SCLA | What should be the container condition upon Pick-up?

If you are the User of a leasing deal in xChange, and you want to confirm the condition of the containers during or prior to completing the pick-up, this is the right article for you.

According to our xChange Standard Container Leasing Agreement’s sub-clause 3 (a) through (c), the condition in which the Supplier will provide the containers has to be according to the below-mentioned points:

  • Good and serviceable condition, which means it should fulfill the following criteria: 
    • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 
    • Customs Convention on Containers of 1956 and 1972
      • The Convention provides for the temporary importation of containers, free of import duties and taxes, subject to re-exportation within 3 months and without the production of customs documents or security.

    • UCIRC/RCIRC
      • Unified Container Inspection & Repair Criteria

  • Units are delivered free from all liens and encumbrances. 
  • The containers should have a valid CSC certificate and plate at the time of pick-up.
