Pre-arrival information
After the acceptance of a deal on xChange, the supplier is on-turn to provide the required pickup information (pickup reference, depot address, contact info) without undue delay.
The user is to give advance notice of pickup to the supplier / his depot latest 24h prior to the planned pickup in order to avoid issues such as non-release by the depot and resulting empty truck runs
- If advance notice is given and the release is confirmed by the depot but then canceled by the supplier without notice to the user, reasonable costs pertaining to the unsuccessful pickup (e.g., truck waiting time, empty runs) is on the supplier’s account. This does not apply if the costs could have been avoided by the user
- If no advance notice is given, or the user has been informed of the canceled release, or costs could have been avoided by the user, all costs pertaining to the unsuccessful pickup (e.g., truck waiting time, empty runs) is on the user’s account
Container condition/ specific requirements
By acceptance of the units the user agrees that the unit condition is matching to the condition defined in the deal. Therefore, any returns after pick-up would be the users' financial responsibility. You can refer to this page to find out more about the container conditions.
To avoid issues it is always important that you (user) check the container condition prior to picking up the container(s). Failing to do so can create many issues - the least of all administrative and extra expenses.
- If you have any specific requirements on the container condition, always discuss this with the supplier beforehand, or leave your requirements in the additional notes field on the deal.
- In case you already agreed on a specific condition you still need to check the container before/while picking it up.
How to verify the condition of the container(s)?
You (user) can check the container condition yourself or by using our survey service which can be booked directly through our Deal Page (by clicking on "Book Survey") or by contacting our team at conops@container-xchange.com. We strongly advise that this survey is booked ahead of time.
For more information on our surveying services, you can check the article here.
Importantly, xChange’s responsibility is to support you in finding containers that match what you have requested (i.e. specified container condition) as the user you or your truck-driver must carefully check in person whether these conditions have been met.
What if the container(s) is not in the right condition?
If the containers do not meet the required conditions you do not have to pick them up and you should inform service@container-xchange.com or use the @support feature in the deal chat for prompt support.
