There are many ways of updating your requirements on xChange, one of which is the Add requirements function which you can find on the top-right side of the search field. You can either use the form that opens or upload your requirements as a file, in case you have large amounts of requirements. You can also upload your balances, and xChange can match you with the right partners based your surplus and deficit locations.
Requirements can be kept up-to-date on xChange by using the requirement evaluation tool. There are three ways to access the requirement evaluation tool:
- Clicking Review now on the Overview page
- On the service page, you will find the Requirement Evaluation button under the help center section.
- Press your Requirement percentage on the requirements page. (only available for container users)
When you click this button, you will see your current requirements on the platform and can validate, or invalidate them. This will update your data and increase your chances for success on the platform.
When you accept a request, you are asked if you need more containers on the same stretch. If you choose Yes, then xChange will look for more partners on the same stretch as you just accepted. If you choose No, then your Requirements will be amended.
Updating requirements - Editing requests
When you edit a request, the system updates your requirement according to the arrangements made in the edit. Other members can then find you in the search field when searching for matching requirements.
Updating requirements - Declining requests
When declining a request the system will amend your requirements based on the decline reason you choose.
i.e. if you as a supplier say “No inventory” then your balance for the pick-up location in and equipment type in the request is automatically set to 0.
i.e. if you as a user say “Currently no demand for stretch / port-pair” then your requirement for that stretch will be set to 0.
You can also state a short reason in "Other" if none of the decline reasons suits you. Since these data adjustments help the system to learn and in turn sends you more relevant requests, you help also yourself by selecting the correct decline reason.
Using the search field
When making a search in the search field with all four search fields filled out, the system will remember it as a requirement. If you do not want your search to be saved, you can leave 1, 2 or even 3 search fields empty, and make a search. This will broaden your search substantially and give you more search results.
Updating your requirements - Newsfeed
When you create a newsfeed post, the information in the post is saved as requirements in the system. Making a newsfeed post is a great way of informing your potential partners and the system what you currently need.
